 Job Exchange: Program Director, STARS and Volunteer Services Program - GEORGIA

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy, education, counseling, vision rehabilitation therapy or related field; master’s degree preferred.

• Two years of successful experience in program management, including staff recruitment, placement and training.

• Experience in working with children and youth with visual impairments in a variety of settings.

• Knowledge of Atlanta resources, community programs and activities beneficial to visually impaired students a plus.

• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

 

Duties: Develops, implements and manages all aspects of the STARS (social, therapeutic, academic and recreational services) program for blind and visually impaired children ages six  to 22, including an after school program, weekend activities and retreats, mentoring program, parent support , and summer day camp.  Also  provides  direction and oversight to the CVI’s volunteer program.  Reports to the Vice President for Programs.
