 Job Exchange: Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist - GEORGIA

*Center for the Visually Impaired - Atlanta, GA



 

 

Qualifications: Master’s degree in O&M from an accredited college or university, and/or ACVREP certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, or a willingness to obtain ACVREP certification within the first year of employment. Certification as a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist and/or knowledge of conversational Spanish a plus.

 

Duties: Responsible for organizing, planning, and providing O&M skills, including indoor, outdoor, and public transportation, to individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Night lessons and home environment lessons will be taught when necessary. Opportunities for providing individual and group classes in a variety of community settings.

 

Salary and Benefits: Competitive, with an additional $3,000 in salary for certification.
