This conference is for anyone who works with children who have Cortical Visual Impairment. Teacher for the Visually Impaired, OT, PT, SLP, Special Education Teachers, and families are encourage to attend.
Missouri AER is proud to present 3 leaders in the field of Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI). Each presenter brings a unique perspective form early intervention, school age adaptations and communication needs.
We would love to welcome, Christopher Russell. He is the project coordinator of New York Deaf-Blind Collaborative. He has facilitated extensive training and coaching on topics related to CVI identification, assessment, and intervention, to schools, agencies, hospital staff, families, and itinerant related service providers (TVIs, TOD/HHs, etc.). Dr. Mindy S Ely is an Assistant Professor at Illinois State University in the area of Low Vision and Blindness. Mindy’s research is focused in two areas 1) early intervention related to visual impairments and 2) cerebral visual impairment. Amy Campbell is an Educational Consultant for Visual Impairment at North Carolina Department Public Instruction and passionate about students with low vision and blindness receiving quality services and instruction.
