Qualifications

Bachelor Degree required; prefer degree in vocational rehabilitation, special education, human resources, visual disabilities, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in Recruiting preferred; 3-5 years working with persons with visual impairment or other disability preferred. Position requires considerable local travel; must have access to reliable transportation and a 3-year clean driving record. Experience in vocational services for persons with disabilities preferred.

Job Description

Facilitate Job Readiness, Job Placement, On-the-Job-Training and/or work experiences to match the needs of each client in Hillsborough, Polk, and surrounding counties.

• Meet with referred clients to evaluate their placement needs and identify and overcome employment barriers.
• Conduct community job development to generate employment, work experience, and on-the-job opportunities for clients.
• Act as a liaison between clients and employers to ensure successful job placement; through education, communication, and training, ensure barriers to placement with employers are minimized.
• Conduct training sessions for clients needing additional assistance.
• Guide clients through employers’ recruiting/hiring processes.
• Maintain regular and ongoing contact with clients.
• Build and maintain trusting relationship with employers in the community and seek out new employer relationship opportunities.
• Support working relationships with other community agencies towards disability rights.
• Assist in placing Summer Transition students and coach them during work experiences.
• Invite new and existing employers within the community to tour the facility to bring awareness.
• Attend weekly and monthly meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
