The successful candidate will possess a Rank I certification and valid certification in Instructional Leadership-Principal, All Grades and a minimum of five years of professional/supervisory experience.  Additionally, demonstrated experience educating students with visual impairments or blindness is preferred.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Associate Commissioner of the Office of Special Education and Early Learning (OSEEL) and the Director of the Division of State Schools, the Principal will provide innovative leadership, oversight and supervision of instructional and residential services at the Kentucky School for the Blind.

KSB is committed to a safe, inviting and engaging learning environment. The principal will be responsible for ensuring student safety; promoting independence; and establishing a high-quality educational experience focused on meeting the individual needs of students.  The principal will lead KSB toward improved student outcomes through rigorous, standards-based core instruction along with tiered interventions and individualized specially-designed instruction designed to meet the unique needs of all students.

In addition to curriculum development and instructional programming, the principal will oversee campus facilities, residential programming, and the assignment of students and staff. The principal will ultimately be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure campus for all students in alignment with the expectations of the Kentucky Board of Education.
