Job Description

Provide assessments/instruction in the Capital District of New York state. Work closely with a dedicated professional team who continue the agency’s 100+ years of service in the community. Excellent benefit package for 12 month full-time position.  Must provide transportation, including rural areas

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the needs, observe and interpret capabilities of each consumer for the purpose of establishing an orientation & mobility teaching plan
  • Provide appropriate instruction using adaptive techniques and/or equipment to address and achieve the goals of service plan
  • Maintain and submit accurate and complete notes on each consumer as required by agency administration and program contracts
  • Independently schedule lessons and coordinate programs in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet contractual and agency demands
  • Travel to consumers’ work sites, homes or educational facilities to provide training and evaluations in rural and urban settings
