Earned doctorate in visual disabilities, special education, or a related field
ACVREP certification in Orientation and Mobility (COMS)
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Commitment to and experience with working with diverse student populations
Experience teaching visual disabilities methods courses
Experience teaching orientation and mobility methods courses

Successful grant management and writing
K-12 certification as a teacher of students with visual impairments
3 years experience as a teacher of students with visual impairments

Job Description

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Visual Disabilities;
Serve on student graduate committees;
Assist in the coordination of the Orientation and Mobility Specialization, including but not limited to: (a) advising and mentoring, (b) coordinating field experiences (i.e., practicum and internship), (c) supervising field experiences (i.e., practicum and internship), (d) actively participating in recruitment efforts;
Provide service to schools, the University, Department, College, and the profession;
Grow and support existing partnerships/relationships with regional providers of services to individuals with visual impairments and national colleagues.
Prepare grant proposals to potential funding agencies.
