  • Certification from AER (CVRT) or certifiable
  • Experience preferred, but not required


Job Description

  • In-depth knowledge of principles, methodologies, tools, techniques, and equipment used for providing vocational and adjustment services to individuals who are blind/visually impaired.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations that are applicable.
  • Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team in developing individualized plans and training for clients.
  • Ability to work with students with additional disabilities and modify lessons when needed to ensure student/client success.
  • Knowledge of physical and psychosocial adjustments to the loss of vision.
  • Ability to accurately maintain case management files and case reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, to meet the needs of the organization and individuals receiving services.
  • Ability to problem solve and utilize necessary resources.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgement.
  • Self-motivated; require minimal supervision.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to organize workflow, set priorities, and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Provide independent living instruction on an individualized and small group basis.
  • Assist the clients in identifying and purchasing appropriate adaptive aids.

This is a full-time 40 hour a week position. The agency has been in existence for 30 years and is in the beautiful Florida panhandle near beaches and a myriad of attractions.

The position will involve some traveling in our 10-county territory with our main office being in Pensacola.
